Ambow's Application-Oriented Education System and Innovative Model Passes MOE Accreditation Review
BEIJING, June 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ambow Education Holding Ltd. ("Ambow" or the "Company"), a leading national provider of educational and career enhancement services in China, today announced Ambow's Application-Oriented Education System and Innovative Model (the "Model") has passed an accreditation review led by China's Ministry of Education (MOE) following a series of achievements appraisals conducted to provide official recognition for Ambow's services. As of today, Ambow has offered its unique services to over 500,000 students in China.
"We are honored to pass the MOE's accreditation review for our Application-Oriented Education System and Innovative Model," commented Dr. Jin Huang, Ambow's President and Chief Executive Officer. "By incorporating advanced concepts of corporate management, our goal is to track and evaluate the teaching process by establishing a standardized administration system, while ensuring the high quality of the application-oriented talents that we groom.
"With the innovative Model, we aim to transform into a university platform that will extend from China to the United States. We will offer a smooth transition from universities in China where a student's credits can be recognized by reputable institutions overseas," continued Dr. Huang.
Kia Jing Tan, Chief Financial Officer, added, "The positive review demonstrates the progress we have made in our restructuring. We discharged the liquidation proceeding and the Joint Provisional Liquidators based on the clean results from an internal investigation over a year ago. We further settled all litigation in the U.S., fulfilled the filing obligations in compliance with SEC rules, and sold the Jinghan tutoring business in order to focus on establishing a leadership position in the career enhancement industry. Along with additional shareholders and a strengthened Board of Directors, the Company's restructuring efforts and achievements have set the stage for a brand-new journey, as we continue to provide world-class services through our strategic initiatives."
"Ambow has taken several important steps to prepare for a strong future. I am excited to work with an extremely devoted management, and look forward to helping bring Ambow to a higher level of success," concluded Chiao-Ling Hsu, Chief Operating Officer.
Based on the "Internet Plus" strategy supported by the Central Government, the Model plans to develop a student-oriented Cloud Education Network Platform to provide one-stop professional services, including teaching management, online education, internship practice, career evaluation and entrepreneurial incubation.
The Ambow Model is one of the first systems to adopt the Small Private Online Course (SPOC) approach in China. By customizing programs and evolving the teacher's role with shared resources, SPOC will substantially improve learning efficiency and student outcomes. The Model is also designed to deepen the interaction between schools and enterprises, integrate different majors during the practice phase, and thereby expand students' professional skills and knowledge scope.
